Welcome Back! I hope everyone enjoyed their fall break.

Our first nine-weeks of school is over. That means it's finally time for fall break. Time to catch up on our rest, get outdoors and just have fun. Enjoy your time off, be safe and have a great fall break.

I am very pleased to announce that our class, along with Ms. Sherri's class, won second place in the float competition. WAY TO GO FARMERS AND SUNFLOWERS!! A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped our class purchase supplies, helped construct our float and came out to see the parade. Thank you parents! We couldn't have done it without you!

Parents please ensure your child is reading 15 minutes nightly by signing off on his/her reading log. Don't forget that logs are due every Friday. Also, students should be reading books on their independent reading level. Books that are 2.5 and below will not be acceptable reading material for some students. Most students in my room are on 3.0 and above in their reading levels, and they should be reading material that reflects that.

I would like to send out a big thank you to Ms. Wendy for supplying our class with much needed paper and extra pencil sharpeners!

They were DELICIOUS!

A couple of reminders:

1. Reading logs were sent home today and are due back Friday along with a parent signature.

2. Don't forget to come out for Open House Thursday, August 22 5:30 - 7:00.

My weekly newsletter is now online. Click under the student section to find the P.I.R.A.T.E News link. The newsletter will be available there every week. I will also be sending a copy home for you to have. Please look over all the information carefully.

Welcome back third graders! It’s going to be a fun-filled year of learning. Be sure you bring your brains, your smiles, and of course yourselves.

Be sure to check out our Gold Club. For each gold coin you earn you will receive $1.00 in classroom money.

Parents! I have updated my policy and procedures, so please take the time to read them over. Also, please make sure you have extra school supplies at home available in order to replace any supplies that need replacing throughout the school year. Our supply list will be here online throughout the year.
